Content digitization for the banking industry has been increasing for a few years. Our customer is a Financial Institution located in Switzerland. The total number of employees is about 300 in 20 branches all over Europe.

CHALLENGE


Our customer had a pain point that an existing document management solution did not meet requirements anymore, especially from an architectural standpoint including the interfaces, deployment, and scaling.

Converting an existing schema to a new one was quite costly and there was a goal to find a reasonable solution and to align ECM systems to current and future company’s #IT strategy, #integrateECM into future proven IT, create architecture and innovative software design methods based on MicroServices platform (Service Layer Architecture).

Besides, it was important to keep existing content in the Strategic Storage platform. Moreover, this type of project included ECM market research to conduct requirement analysis and select, and assess potential ECM solutions.

In the beginning, we collected and prioritized functional and non-functional requirements together with the project team. Then we started working on the market research to deliver anonymous ECM market analysis and vendor selection based on the requirements:

- Keep existing content storage platform incl. retention management;
- Future-proof REST-API / Micro Services Architecture;
- #MicrosoftOffice365 integration capabilities;
- Automated intelligent Metadata Management / Classification for powerful document search (full text, metadata, hybrid);
- #ECM Service integration into existing Core Banking Systems used by the customer;
- System performance to manage 200.000 new documents per day and 50+ Mio documents in total;
- Country-specific requirements;
- Provide a management decision template with a shortlist of relevant ECM #Vendors.
